SquashRT started as a rhythm-and-movement training tool for coaches and players. But one day a thought stuck with me: "Could someone who has never held a racket still pick this up and have fun in a few seconds?"
So I built one — a casual arcade version you play with a single swipe. No rules to learn, no racket needed. Just push the screen and the rally begins.
🎮 How to play
- 👆 Swipe = shot — flick toward where you want the ball to go. A fast swipe hits hard; a short flick plays a soft drop.
- 🎯 Timing = grade — the tighter your ball lands to a corner, the better: EXCELLENT, then GOOD, then BAD.
- 🏃 Recover to the T — the real squash rhythm of returning to the middle after every shot is baked right in.
- 🧱 Mind the tin — hit the tin (the low front-wall board) and you lose the point. Real squash calls (Down / Out / Not up) show up too.
🔺 Five levels, tougher every time
As the levels climb, the AI opponent tires less, moves faster, and plays more aggressively. On the final level the guide markers disappear and it becomes a real best-of-three, 11-point match.
- Level 1 — 1 set, 3 points (warm-up)
- Level 2 — 1 set, 5 points
- Level 3 — 1 set, 9 points
- Level 4 — 1 set, 11 points
- Level 5 — best of 3, 11 points, markers OFF

🕹️ Why an arcade version?
Squash is a wonderful sport, but it has a barrier to entry for newcomers. The goal of this arcade version is simple: make it fun within 30 seconds, even if you have no idea what squash is. My hope is that someone who catches the bug here goes on to a real court — and to real training.
