Volley Alternate (L/R)
Feeds alternate left and right of the T; volley each one straight and deep. Light feet, never cross them — small adjusting steps beat one big lunge.
Volley Drive (L)
Fast deep feeds down the left; step across and volley each ball straight to the back-left before it bounces. Short backswing, firm wrist, contact out in front of your body.
Volley Drive (R)
Fast deep feeds down the right; step across and volley each ball straight to the back-right before it bounces. Short backswing, firm wrist, contact out in front of your body.
Defensive Lob (L)
Short feed to the front-left; lift a high cross-court lob into the deep back-right. Get low under the ball, open the face and lift for height — height makes the depth.
Defensive Lob (R)
Short feed to the front-right; lift a high cross-court lob into the deep back-left. Get low under the ball, open the face and lift for height — height makes the depth.
Straight Drop (L)
Mid-court feed; step in and float a straight drop into the front-left corner. Soft grip, short follow-through — just enough open face to clear the tin.
Straight Drop (R)
Mid-court feed; step in and float a straight drop into the front-right corner. Soft grip, short follow-through — just enough open face to clear the tin.
Four-Corner Receive
One feed to each corner in rotation — front-right, back-right, front-left, back-left. Move from the T, play the right-length answer, recover — racket up before you arrive.
Straight & Cross Mix
Same feed, different answer — drive the first ball straight, hit the next one cross-court. Decide before the bounce; the contact point, beside you or out in front, is what changes the shot.
Alternating Rails (L/R)
Feeds alternate sides; drive each one straight and deep, recovering through the T between shots. Same compact swing on both wings — don't let the backhand get long.
Boast–Drive: Boaster (L)
Coach drives deep to your backhand; take it off the back wall and play a two-wall boast to the front. Turn to face the side wall and punch the ball forward into it — boast quality decides the rally.
Boast–Drive: Boaster (R)
Coach drives deep to the back-right; take it off the back wall and play a two-wall boast to the front. Turn to face the side wall and punch the ball forward into it — boast quality decides the rally.
Boast–Drive: Driver (Rail)
Same pattern, one side only — boast, straight drive, recover, repeat. Groove the front-court lunge: same footwork, same contact point every time.
Boast–Drive: Driver (R)
Coach boasts from alternating back corners; dash forward and drive each ball straight to a deep length, then recover. The classic conditioning pattern — racket up on the way in.
Back-Corner Dig (L)
Deep feed into the back-left corner; wait for it to come off the back wall, then dig it out with a compact straight drive. Short swing, height over the tin — clean length beats power.
Back-Corner Dig (R)
Deep feed into the back-right corner; wait for it to come off the back wall, then dig it out with a compact straight drive. Short swing, height over the tin — clean length beats power.
Boast Return (L)
Coach boasts from the back-right; sprint to the front-left and drive it straight to a deep length. Lunge with the racket up early — hit, then push straight back to the T.
Boast Return (R)
Coach boasts from the back-left; sprint to the front-right and drive it straight to a deep length. Lunge with the racket up early — hit, then push straight back to the T.
Cross-Court Drive (L→R)
Feed to mid-left; drive it cross-court into the opposite back corner. Take the ball out in front of you for width — it should hit the side wall behind the service box.
Cross-Court Drive (R→L)
Feed to mid-right; drive it cross-court into the opposite back corner. Take the ball out in front of you for width — it should hit the side wall behind the service box.
